Modalities Available
Craniosacral
A modality addressing structural elements and fluid dynamics of the craniosacral system: the bones and joints, brain and spinal cord, cerebral spinal fluid, etc. Blockages in craniosacral system can cause an unharmonious balance in body, resulting in muscle and joint strain, emotional disturbances and the improper operation of the body’s organs and central nervous system. This is a practice of deeply listening with the heart and hands from a place of compassionate stillness to encourage the spinal fluid to naturally move freely.
Integrative
A blend of various modalities designed specifically for client’s individual and diverse needs. The integrative massage technique is based on the idea that not just one massage is right for every person or can solve every problem. As a team, client and therapist will determine best therapeutic techniques for treatment. Integrative massage is beneficial for anyone who wants to enjoy life to the fullest, physically, mentally and spiritually.
Connective Tissue
The connective tissue, a.k.a fascia, is the matrix for communication throughout the body; all blood, nerve, and lymph are surrounded by it, imbedded in it. It encompasses the many layers of muscles and when healthy, allows for smooth uninhibited movement. Bodies respond to these therapies by releasing tension and adhesions that have been stored in the fascia. This bodywork improves circulations and promotes re hydration to awaken the life forces to flow through. It approaches the body holistically as loss of vitality in one area will be communicated to the whole via the connective tissue network.
Pregnancy
Designed for the expectant mother with proper bolstering and awareness of contraindications, massage can reduce discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). Massage can relieve stress on weight-bearing joints, encourage blood and lymph circulation, assist to relax nervous tension -- which aids in better sleep -- and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
Neuromuscular (Trigger point)
Through cycles of applying specific and direct point pressure, this therapy aims to stimulate areas of the muscular skeletal system and release acute or chronically contracted muscles and tendons. Based on principals of neurological laws including the central nervous system and pain maintenance, the objective is to balance the muscular system and the nervous system to relive the underlying cause of the pain.
Swedish
Known for its relaxing, rhythmical and flowing properties, Swedish promotes circulation of blood, lymphatic flow, muscular relaxation, and increased sensory awareness. This is primarily accomplished by long, gliding stokes towards the heart.
